The truth is………..we all eat lies when our hearts are hungry.
It happens quietly. Sometimes without even knowing. A kind word from the wrong person. A promise with no roots. A feeling that something is finally changing, when in fact, it’s just repeating.
Hungry hearts don’t always crave food. They crave warmth, presence, and attention. And when that’s missing, they reach for anything that looks like love. Even if it’s hollow. Even if it tastes like disappointment wrapped in sugar.
We swallow excuses. We chew on hope that’s long expired. We dine on illusions because facing the emptiness feels harder than pretending it’s full. And the saddest part is—we’re not foolish. Just… human.
But here’s the shift:
There comes a day when the lies no longer taste sweet.
A day when your heart, tired of being tricked, learns the difference between being fed and being fulfilled.
You stop craving noise. You start seeking truth, even when it’s quiet.
You begin choosing people who bring peace, not promises.
And you realize: real love doesn’t need a mask. It sits with you. It stays.
So, if your heart is hungry, don’t feed it crumbs dressed as cake.
Wait for the feast made of honesty, respect, and kindness.
It exists. It always does.
You just have to stay strong long enough to taste it.

This rings so true for me. Today exactly, I have lifted the veil and took a long look. It has taken months to get to this point, and now that the truth is staring me back in the face, I have no more appetite for this dish. It looked so enticing in the past…now I have outgrown it, and I listen to my soul, telling me there is nothing here for me, nothing left.

So true — there’s a world of difference between hearing and truly listening. Thank you for capturing it so simply and perfectly.

Don’t want to find myself as part of this population 😒, so help me God!:”For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.”2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NLT)

Hello,
Thank you for sharing this verse—it’s a powerful reminder. It’s true, there’s always the danger of drifting toward comfortable lies instead of holding onto hard truths. I think we all have to stay awake, questioning, and humble, so that we don’t lose sight of what’s real and good. Your words add so much depth to this post—I appreciate you bringing this perspective here. 🌿🙏

You are very welcome. This video 📹 was shared by a friend. Not a very-watched video, but one that I think 🤔 further expands on the topic: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3kRf5ifamsA
