I’ve always believed that life has its own timing.
Not perfect timing. Not easy. But meaningful.

For me, the journey has never followed the straight road. There have been so many detours—some expected, many not. And yet, somehow, each turn, each delay, each heartbreak led me to a place I was meant to be. Not a place of perfection. But a place of growth. A place of becoming.

I waited ten years to become a father. A full decade of hoping, doubting, dreaming, and never giving up.

Do you know what ten years feels like when you’re waiting for something that means everything? It feels like forever. It feels like watching the seasons change while standing still. It feels like decorating hope with ribbons of fear. But it also teaches you patience. It deepens your heart in ways you don’t even notice at first. And when the day finally comes—when your dream looks back at you with curious eyes and tiny hands—you understand. You understand that the wait was not empty. It was preparing you. Strengthening you. Humbling you.

I’ve changed three countries in six years—chasing not just a better life, but a place where we could finally feel at home.

Home is not just a roof over your head or a place on a map. It’s a feeling. It’s safety. It’s freedom. And sometimes, it takes everything in you to chase it. To leave behind the familiar. To say goodbye to people you love. To pack your life into a few suitcases and carry it across borders, across oceans, across fear. But when you find it—when your soul finally exhales and whispers, “Yes, this is it”—it makes every step worth it.

From a camera in my hands, I became a photographer.
From words in my heart, I became a writer.

And no, I didn’t go to prestigious schools or have perfect mentors. I didn’t follow a clear plan. I simply listened to something small and honest inside of me. I followed what felt like light. And even when I doubted myself—even when I felt like an imposter—I kept going. I kept creating. Because creating is how I breathe. It’s how I process the world. It’s how I turn ordinary days into something lasting.

Nothing about my journey has been predictable. Nothing has been certain.

I used to think I needed a five-year plan, a roadmap, a checklist. Now I know better. Life isn’t a straight line. It’s not a neat equation. It’s a wild and beautiful puzzle that we solve one piece at a time. And sometimes, the piece you thought was missing wasn’t missing at all. It was just waiting for the right moment to fit.

Even now, the future feels like a question mark… but somehow, I’m still calm.
Because I know—it’s my journey.
And it’s unique. And it’s beautiful.

Not because everything is easy. But because everything is real.
Because it’s made of love, courage, change, and faith.

And isn’t that what makes a story worth reading? The messy parts. The vulnerable moments. The leaps of faith and the quiet victories no one else sees. The days you wanted to quit but didn’t. The nights you cried but still hoped. These are the pages that matter.

If you ever feel lost or unsure, please remember this:
Your path doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s.
You were never meant to follow someone else’s map.

Comparison is a thief. It steals your joy, your focus, your peace. Don’t let it. Don’t let the highlight reels of others make you question the quiet beauty of your own progress. What you’re doing—what you’re building—it matters. Even if it’s slow. Even if no one claps. Even if it feels invisible.

Believe in your journey.
Even when it makes no sense to others.
Even when it makes no sense to you.

Because maybe the most beautiful stories are written with faith, not with certainty.
With trust, not with timelines.
With heart, not with haste.

I’m not at the end of my story. I’m still learning. Still walking. Still growing. And every day, I remind myself: this life—this one, unique, imperfect, beautiful life—is mine. And I choose to believe in it.

Not because I know where I’m going.
But because I know who I’m becoming.

  7. I waited 10 years to have my one and only child as well, so I completely relate to what you’re saying. The advice you give is advice I have given my child and many other young people who strive to have the perfect life. Have faith. It all works out in the end.
