I’ll admit something I used to feel a little guilty about—I never liked Autumn.
While so many people called it their favorite season, to me it was always gray and heavy. The days felt shorter, the air colder, and the beauty of summer seemed to disappear overnight. I saw Autumn as an ending rather than a beginning, and for years I carried that feeling with me.

But life has a way of changing the way we see things. For me, that change came when I took a photography course. Camera in hand, I was asked to capture what the world looked like in the fading light of the year. At first, I struggled. The old part of me only noticed the bare trees and the chill in the air. But then something shifted—I began to notice details I had never really seen before.

The golden glow of late afternoon filtering through branches. The way fallen leaves made the ground look like it was covered in fire and sunlight. The comfort of a warm drink held between my hands on a misty morning. Through the lens, Autumn was no longer the end of something beautiful—it was its own kind of masterpiece.

Autumn Through the Lens

Photography taught me that Autumn is about textures and tones, about slowing down and really seeing. In summer, the world is loud with color, full of bright energy and noise. Autumn is quieter, but that quiet has depth. Every fallen leaf carries a story. Every breeze carries a whisper of change.

I started to find joy in small details: the crunch of leaves underfoot, the way the sky holds more shades of orange than a painter’s palette, the soft mist that rolls across a field in the early morning. These weren’t losses—they were gifts waiting to be noticed. And slowly, I began to love the season I had once disliked.

Inspiration for Creativity

As a writer and creator, inspiration often comes from what I feel most deeply. So it’s no surprise that this new appreciation for Autumn soon found its way into my work. What started with a camera lens grew into something bigger—I wanted to capture not just images, but also feelings.

That’s how my 12 Autumn Notebook designs were born. Each one was created with the spirit of the season in mind: the golden hues of leaves, the rustic textures of wood and bark, the soft calm of early mornings. I thought about what it means to sit with a notebook in Autumn—maybe on a park bench, maybe at a café, maybe just by the window as the leaves fall outside—and how that simple act feels different in this season than in any other.

A Collection for the Season

These notebooks aren’t just pages bound together; they are companions for a season of reflection. Autumn invites us to slow down, to write, to notice, to dream. And that’s exactly what these designs are meant to encourage.

Whether it’s jotting down daily thoughts, sketching the changing colors, planning for the rest of the year, or simply keeping a space for quiet moments, these notebooks carry a little piece of Autumn with them. They are warm, inviting, and ready to hold whatever words or drawings you place inside.

I imagine someone opening one of these notebooks while sipping a hot drink on a cool morning, or carrying it along for a walk when inspiration strikes. That’s the feeling I wanted to create—something practical, but also deeply personal.

Here, you can see the full set of 12 Autumn Notebook designs. Each one is different, but together they tell the story of a season I now love.

Closing Thoughts

If you had told me years ago that I would ever write about my love for Autumn, I would have laughed. But now I see that change is part of life’s rhythm, just as seasons come and go. Autumn is no longer a season of loss for me—it is a season of discovery.

Through my photography and my notebooks, I’ve learned that beauty is often quieter than we expect. Sometimes it hides in shadows, waiting for us to slow down and really see.

So here’s my invitation: let this Autumn be a season of noticing. Notice the colors, the textures, the little joys that arrive with the cooler air. And if you’d like, let one of my notebooks be part of that journey—ready to capture your own story of the season.

    1. Hello,
Thank you kindly 🍂✨ I love how you put it—Autumn really is like a harvest, not just of fields but of moments and memories. A season for gathering everything we’ve lived through so far, and reflecting before the year turns. That’s exactly the feeling I hoped these notebooks would carry.

    1. Hello,
Thank you so much 🤎🍂 Even if Autumn doesn’t arrive the same way in Texas, it’s wonderful that the spirit of the season can still be part of your journey. I love the idea of one of my notebooks holding your own version of Autumn—because sometimes the season is less about the weather outside and more about the reflections we carry within.
      Have a beautiful new week.
      Regards,

  1. Spring is my favourite season with Autumn at number 2. It’s the thought of the coming Winter that puts me off it. In writing this comment just realised that’s a lesson in living in and enjoying the moments we have right now.

    1. Hello,
You’re so right 🌸🍂 It’s easy to let the thought of what’s coming next (like winter) steal the joy of the present. I used to feel the same, but Autumn has taught me a lot about slowing down and enjoying what’s right in front of me. Maybe that’s why the season has become so meaningful to me now—it reminds us that every moment is worth noticing.

  2. I love your autumn notebook designs, Georgi. Gorgeous.

Autumn has been my favourite season of the year for many reasons. It was a season of harvest and plenty when I was a kid in the countryside. Today, the changing colours and the falling leaves remind me of the limited time we have on this planet.

As I was appreciating the designs, a question popped up. Besides cameras and physical stationery like pens, pencils and brushes, do you use digital apps like Photoshop in the creation process, Georgi?

    1. Hello friend,
Thank you so much 🙏🍂 I’m really glad you love the Autumn designs. Your words about harvest and changing leaves touched me—Autumn truly carries those deep reminders of time and beauty.

As for your question, yes—I do use digital tools and AI. Photography opened my eyes to Autumn’s colors, but when I create notebooks, I combine that inspiration with design software. I sketch ideas, think about textures and moods, and then refine everything digitally until it feels right. It’s a mix of heart, lens, and technology working together.

    1. Hello friend,
Thank you so much for sharing this 🙏🍂 I love how you connected the seasons to faith and trust. You’re right—every change in nature reminds us of something greater, and Autumn especially teaches us to lean into that trust. I’m grateful for your words and for your encouragement. It means a lot to know that my posts can be a small part of that perspective.

  4. Autumn is my favorite season. So many cultures celebrate death this time of year, but I see it has a hibernation leading into renewal – Spring. It’s one last flash of color before going to sleep for the winter.

    1. Hello,
I really love the way you put that 🌿 Autumn as a kind of hibernation before renewal—it’s such a beautiful perspective. That “last flash of color” always feels like nature’s reminder that even endings can be full of beauty and hope. Thank you for sharing this—I think that’s what makes Autumn so meaningful to so many of us.
      Have a beautiful new week.

  5. Oh man, I’m the opposite. I absolutely lurrrve autumn. I grew up on a tropical island so while I am familiar with the heat, summer usually has me running for cooler temperatures and anywhere with shade like I’m a vampire. Besides that, I have always been at odds with bright and sunny and was always fascinated with shades of grey; approaching thunderstorms, rain at night, storm watching. One of my fantasies as a little girl growing up on the islands was to go and walk through Oxford during the rain at night and just feel the energy of the place. I love the change in the energy when summer transitions to autumn. I enjoy summer too because there is so much more to do but I can’t tolerate the heat. Autumn suits my dark, brooding personality and wardrobe.

    1. Hello,
I love your description—so vivid! 🍂✨ And I feel the same now. For a long time, I didn’t appreciate Autumn the way I do today, but photography helped me see its depth and beauty. Like you, I’ve come to love the change in energy, the colors, and the mood of the season. Your dream of walking through Oxford in the rain sounds magical—I think Autumn carries exactly that kind of energy.
      Have a wonderful week.

    1. Hello,
I understand that so well 🌞✨ I used to feel the same—that summer was pure joy, and its ending brought sadness. But over time, I’ve learned to see Autumn as carrying its own kind of happiness—quieter, softer, but still full of beauty. Maybe that’s the gift of the seasons: each one teaches us something different about joy.
      Have a great new week.
      Regards,

    1. Hello,
Yes, exactly! 🌿 I’ve heard that too, and it makes so much sense. The changing of the seasons adds rhythm and perspective to life—it’s like nature’s way of reminding us that change is natural and necessary. That’s what I tried to capture in this piece: how Autumn, in particular, shifted from something I once disliked into a season I now truly appreciate.
      Have a wonderful new week.

      Georgi

  6. When asked about my favorite season, I say that I love all of them for different reasons but that autumn wins by a whisker. The evenings are cooler, the filtered golden light is calming and I’m a much better sleeper when it’s dark and cold than I am in the brightness of summer. We have gorgeous summers here in the PacNW so I’m not complaining!

    1. That’s such a beautiful way to put it 🌿 I love how you honor each season for what it gives, but also how Autumn feels just a little extra special. The golden light, the cool evenings, even the deeper sleep—it all adds up to such a calming rhythm. And you’re right, summer has its own beauty too—especially in the PNW, which must be stunning! 🍁
