Open book with autumn leaves and a cozy quote about reading by the fireplace.

Fireplace crackling,
pages turning,
tea cooling slowly—
this is how stories
were always meant
to be read.

Today’s reminder: Some stories don’t just live in books — they come alive in the glow of the fire and the quiet of your heart.

  1. I believe I am learning to enjoy Autumn days. Here in Edmonton, we are blessed with more sunny fall days than in any other Canadian city I have lived in.
I love walking with my wife around the neighborhood, wearing a nice coat and a scarf, admiring the beautiful historic houses.

  2. Ohhh, I just had to comment too! I hope I’m not barging in here, but what you both describe sounds really lovely. I’m not in Canada, but waaay northern California. I live close to Lake Tahoe in the small town of Grass Valley. We have all four seasons here and it’s wonderful. My husband and I took a long walk with our trusty rescue dog, Riley today. It was raining leaves of all colors and kinds. And the clean, fresh, air. The best!

I really enjoy reading what you write Georgi. You can encapsulate a great moment using a minimum of words. What you write really stays with me. Thank you. Heidi

    1. Thank you so much, Heidi 🍁
You’re absolutely not barging in — I loved reading your comment! Your walk with Riley sounds like pure Autumn magic. I can almost picture the leaves swirling around you and the crisp Lake Tahoe air. It’s wonderful that you get to experience all four seasons — they each tell their own story, don’t they? I’m really touched by your kind words about my writing — thank you from the heart 🧡🍂🐾

  3. living on an island with many hikes and trails to wander, I’ve enjoyed the privilege of meandering along some hidden and well traversed paths. The ones I carry in my heart were the ones with crunching leaves and the colourful array that competed with sunsets. I loved the earthiness..aroma of a forest preparing to sleep. In those unguarded moments before the rains come making much of this impassable, the goldenness the freshness the crispness carried on the air wafting by on bated breath scurrying ahead of that which is to come l, sitting before a semi roaring campfire, find time stands still for the fraction of a second. For contemplation, peaceful revery. Imagine all that blossoming from contemplations from a fireplace and good book.tyvmbty for taking me back there.
