I’ve been quiet for a while.
Sometimes silence is the only way the heart can speak.
My family has been through something deeply painful — we lost our dog, Kari. We had to say goodbye……..
Even now, writing these words feels unreal. The house feels emptier, the days quieter. But the love she gave — that remains everywhere.
Dogs are never just animals. They are love wrapped in fur and faith. They give us everything without asking for anything in return.
When someone decides to take a dog into their life, they should pause and think — How much love can I give? Because dogs give us love that goes beyond reason, beyond limits, beyond words.
We have family, friends, and busy lives. But our dogs, they have only us. We are their whole world.
My Kari was more than a dog. She was my little miracle — my laughter, my comfort, my loyal shadow. She understood things that words couldn’t express. She made the ordinary days beautiful just by being there. She was magic, more than human.
She was LOVE……….and still is.
Now, each night, I look at the sky and search for her star — the one that shines a little warmer than the rest. I know it’s there somewhere, waiting for me to find it.
And when I do, I’ll whisper softly: “Good night, little paw. I love you.”
Because some loves never end — they simply change shape, from pawprints on the floor to constellations in the sky. 🌟

Aww sorry to hear Georgi. What a little cutie! They are definitely more than dogs, they become our family members. Great memories though I’m sure to cherish.

… Very sorry to hear about the loss of your dog, Kari. This is so relatable because It’s very painful to lose a beloved pet. Just like you say in your Post: – the owners of a pet are the whole world to that pet; so similarly when “Man’s Best Friend” loses its owner it suffers immeasurable pain too. We have witnessed this kind of canine response and in literature and even in biographies of individuals one often reads about how pets suffer similarly when they lose an owner; so it’s always mutual. And back to your main theme, we are once again very sorry about the loss of your dog Kari. We are sure that Kari, your little miracle, deeply loved and cherished you and your family too!

I had wondered what happened to you. Didn’t see you on here for several days. So sorry to hear about Kari, the pain must be awful. I dread the day when something happens to my Chachi, I don’t know what I would do. They say time heals all things but not right now I know. Take care and my heartfelt condolences.

Losing a family member is so hard. You feel where their presence is supposed to be. Several times a day, for a long time. The lack of certain sounds. A change in the feel of your home. You recognize the routine of your life has changed.
It’s so hard. But you’ve got the memories. She lived those wonderful times with you. ❤️
When my dog passed, I wrote down all the funny and sweet memories as soon as I could manage. I cried the whole time. But much like your post, it’s so therapeutic to celebrate the life that impacted you and not hide away from memories that might bring tears now that they’re gone. I told everyone I came in contact with, in the first couple of days, “Sorry if I’m a little weird, my dog passed recently. Something about that made the pain fade faster.
Still miss the guy but soon after talking about it over and over again, I could discuss memories about him with gentle tears as I reminisced. Pain can silence us sometimes. But it got easier. The tears that are left don’t hurt, they’re less intense, and they don’t stop the echo of his story.
Thank you for sharing her story. I’m so sorry for your loss😞

What a moving tribute to Kari. 🐾 This is such a poignant reminder of how our relationships with animals awaken something extra-human in us — a quiet dignity and grace in giving and receiving love without conditions, a kind of soul-wealth that asks only for presence and openness. They give freely, forgive easily, live fully. That love doesn’t end; it simply finds new ways to stay with us. 🐾 I’m so sorry for your loss.

“But since in fact we see that avarice, anger, envy, pride, sloth, lust and stupidity commonly profit far beyond humility, chastity, fortitude, justice and thought, and have to choose, to be human at all…why then perhaps we must stand fast a little – even at the risk of being heroes.” – Thomas More (John Bolt, “A Man for All Seasons.”)

I’m so sorry for your loss, Georgi. Losing a dog is one of the deepest heartbreaks we ever face, because their love is truly unconditional. A dog stands by you no matter your mood, curls up beside you no matter how the day went, and still thinks you’re the greatest person in the world even when life knocks you down. That’s the gift they give us—loyalty without judgment, love without conditions, and joy without limits.
I’m sorry it took me a while to respond; your sweet Kari deserved a thoughtful message. In time, when the grief softens, another dog out there will be blessed to receive the kind of love your family gives so freely. And Kari will have paved the way—her love becoming the example that saves another.

Thank you so much for your beautiful and compassionate words
Everything you said is true — the love of a dog is like nothing else in this world. It’s steady, forgiving, and pure in a way that humbles you. Kari gave us all of that and more, and though the pain is still fresh, I hold onto the thought that her love will keep guiding us forward.
Your message truly touched me. And yes — maybe one day, when the time feels right, another little soul will find their way to us, carrying a spark of that same love.

What a beautiful, pure post.
My son has asked me a few times; “How long will Krypto (our labrador) live?”
We have had several discussions. Talking about dogs I once had.
I hope that one day, when time is long past, that he may write something as honourable as you have.
RIP little paw.

Your words mean a lot to me. Those conversations with your son are so tender — they hold both love and the quiet understanding that time is precious. Krypto is lucky to be growing up in a home where he’s loved so deeply, and I’m sure your son will carry that love forever.
RIP little paw — those three words say everything.
