I have some lovely news to share today.

Vico’s Christmas Storybook has found a new home! Well, not exactly a new home, but a new shelf. And for a little Christmas book that began as a father’s idea, every new shelf feels like another small adventure.

This time, Vico has joined the Indie Author Bookstore, a wonderful online space created to help independent authors and their books find new readers.

And what makes this news even more special is how it all happened.

I didn’t discover the bookstore through an advertisement or a random internet search. Jody Savage, the founder of Motivated Savages, personally invited me to include Vico’s Christmas Storybook in her bookstore.

Naturally, I was delighted.

After submitting the book and waiting for the confirmation, I finally received a lovely email from Jody welcoming Vico to the Children’s Books shelf.

And just like that, my little Christmas book had another place in the world.

The Woman Behind Motivated Savages

I would love to introduce you to the person who made this possible.

Jody Savage is an author, podcast host, and the founder of Motivated Savages, a platform that brings together people, stories, creativity, and independent authors.

She is also the author of Shadows on the Road, a mystery novel set in Maine.

What began with writing and conversations about life and personal growth has developed into a creative community with three main parts.

The Motivated Savages Podcast features conversations and stories with interesting people. The Motivated Savages Blog shares original writing, observations, guest contributions, and discoveries from the world of independent authors.

And then there is the Indie Author Bookstore, the place where Vico has recently found his new shelf.

What I appreciate most about Jody’s work is the idea behind it. She isn’t simply collecting book titles on a website. She is creating opportunities for authors and readers to discover one another.

And I think that is something worth celebrating.

A Bookstore Where Authors Help Each Other

The idea behind the Indie Author Bookstore is wonderfully simple.

Imagine that you visit the bookstore looking for one particular book. You find it, but before leaving, you decide to explore another shelf.

Perhaps you discover an unfamiliar author. Maybe a cover catches your attention, or a description makes you curious.

And suddenly, you’ve found a book you weren’t even looking for.

Now imagine that happening again and again, with readers arriving through different authors and discovering new stories along the way.

That is the kind of community Jody is building.

It reminds me of something I’ve always loved about bookstores.

Sometimes we walk into a bookstore knowing exactly what we want. We find the title, pick it up, and head toward the cashier.

But other times, we simply wander.

We look at covers, read a few descriptions, and discover something unexpected. Perhaps a book that makes us smile, teaches us something, or stays in our memory long after we’ve finished reading it.

The Indie Author Bookstore brings a little of that experience into the online world.

And because independent authors often work without the large promotional resources of traditional publishing houses, having a place where they can support and introduce one another is especially meaningful.

A Little Christmas Magic on the Children’s Books Shelf

When I created Vico’s Christmas Storybook, I wasn’t thinking about bookstores, marketing, or how many people might eventually read it.

I was thinking about Christmas, my son, our family memories, and those little moments that make the holiday season special.

I wanted to turn some of those feelings and experiences into stories that children and parents could enjoy together.

What began as a personal idea eventually became a published book.

And since then, Vico has been on a journey of his own.

Every time someone discovers the book, shares a kind word, or welcomes it into their home, I feel that the original idea has traveled a little farther than I ever imagined.

Now, seeing Vico on the Children’s Books shelf of the Indie Author Bookstore gives me another reason to smile.

Of course, I hope new readers will discover his Christmas adventures.

But I also hope that someone who visits the bookstore because of Vico will discover another independent author.

Perhaps a mystery novel, a poetry collection, a beautiful children’s book, or a story they never expected to find.

Because there is something wonderful about knowing that one small discovery might lead to another.

Thank You, Jody!

I want to finish with a heartfelt thank-you to Jody Savage.

Thank you for personally inviting me to join the Indie Author Bookstore, for welcoming Vico so warmly, and for creating a space where independent authors can support one another.

Building a community takes time, dedication, and a genuine interest in other people’s work. I appreciate the opportunity to become a little part of what you are creating.

And to everyone reading this, I would love to invite you to explore the bookstore.

Visit the different shelves. Discover a new author. Read about a book you’ve never heard of before.

And while you’re wandering through the Children’s Books section, you might notice a little Christmas storybook waiting there.

You may recognize the boy with glasses and a Santa hat, sitting inside a snow globe.

His name is Vico.

And he has found another shelf.

Sometimes, a new chapter in a book’s journey begins simply because someone makes room for it.
